Apply for a Scholarship

The Community Scholarship Program is active from December 1 through June 30 each school year. The information contained on this page is NOT to be considered current at any other time.

Before Getting Started
Please read all of the information provided on the Scholarships and Criteria page before beginning the process of completing your application. The forms required to complete your application packet are provided below:

Scholarship Selection Form
Scholarship Application Form
Financial Assistance Questionnaire Form (to be completed only if required)

The Scholarship Selection Form is designed to be printed and then completed by hand. The Scholarship Application and Financial Assistance Questionnaire forms are designed to be completed on-screen and then printed (they cannot be submitted on-line). In addition, they cannot be saved for retrieval at a later time, so you should not begin entering data in a form until you can devote sufficient time to completing the entire form in one sitting. Some applicants find it helpful to print a blank copy of the forms to complete by hand as time permits, and then use this "rough draft" to make completing the forms online faster and easier. You must have Adobe Reader to access these files (Adobe Reader is free and can be downloaded at www.adobe.com/downloads).

Determining Eligibility and Making Scholarship Selections
Read carefully the criteria for each scholarship listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page. After ensuring that you are eligible and meet the criteria listed, use the Scholarship Selection Form to indicate your selections (print the form and then check the box next to each scholarship for which you are applying).

Completing the Application and Obtaining Transcript Information
Complete the Scholarship Application Form as described above. The "Transcript Information" section of the Scholarship Application Form is to be completed by your high school guidance counselor. Print one copy of the completed Scholarship Application Form and deliver it to your guidance counselor for completion of the "Transcript Information" section and to obtain your official grade transcript.

Compiling Supplemental Documents
Assemble any documents listed as "Supplemental Requirements" for the scholarships listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page. Please note that not all supplemental requirements are the same. Include supplemental documents only when they are listed as a requirement.

Assembling the Application Packet
Assemble the following documents in the order listed:

1.   Completed Scholarship Selection Form
2.   Completed Scholarship Application Form
3.   Official grade transcript (most recent)
4.   Financial Assistance Questionnaire, only if required
5.   Written essay(s), only if required
6.   Letters of recommendation, only if required
7.   Other supplementary documents, only if required

Use paperclips or binderclips to assemble your application packet (be sure to assemble the packet in the order outlined above). Application packets submitted in a report cover or binder will not be accepted.

Submitting the Application Packet
Unless otherwise noted on the Scholarships and Criteria page, deliver the original application packet plus one copy (even if you are applying for more than one scholarship) to your high school guidance counselor by the submission deadline. Applicants are responsible for complying with the instructions outlined in this document and for ensuring that all information provided is legible.

Submission Deadlines
Application packets are due on the date indicated for each scholarship listed on the Scholarships and Criteria page.
